GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Health Promotion Worker works with the Stoney community, Stoney Health Services (SHS) Personnel, as well as with various local, regional and government agencies/groups to promote overall health, wellness and environmental conditions for the Stoney community members as part of a coordinated health promotion approach throughout Stoney Nation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate a calendar of health and wellness promotion activities
- Coordinate, facilitate and/or lead (as needed) health and wellness promotion activities in collaboration with community leaders and local organizations. Said duties may include:
- Nutritional and Healthy activities
- Physical activities and active lifestyle
- General Wellness Activities
- SHS Health and Wellness Activities
- Maintain and effective reporting and evaluating system of health/wellness promotional activities
- Participate as a member of the Stoney Health team in various activities
- Comply with all relevant SHS and STA policies, procedures and regulations
- Act as an Ambassador for SHS, Client and family-centered care and client autonomy
- Perform administrative and clerical functions related to role
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Alberta High School Diploma an asset
- CPR/First Aide and asset
- Computer skills (proficiency in Word and Excel)
- Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
- Excellent organizational, time management and presentation skills
- Experience in managing projects
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Clear Criminal record check and vulnerable sector
- Proof of double COVID-19 Vaccination
- Class 5 Advanced Drivers License and Clean Driving Record
