Notice to Stoney Nakoda members
RE: COVID-19
There are now 37 positive cases of COVID-19 in Morley. Since March, we have had 98 total cases identified by Stoney Health Services and they have managed 94 of those cases. Stoney Health Services has been working diligently to complete contact tracing since the recent spike of positive cases in Morley. Due to privacy laws, Stoney Health Services cannot disclose the identify of those affected.
We are a small community and COVID-19 can spread easily and quickly. It could affect you and your loved ones. The recent spike in cases is alarming but we must come together as a community.
We must protect our Elders and our community members. We can prevent further spread by being vigilant and following the essential guidelines and restrictions below:
- Gatherings, indoor and outdoor, are prohibited;
- Do not invite others to your home and do not visit others in their homes;
- Masks must be worn in indoor public spaces and work places;
- Wear a mask anytime you are near people who you do not live with;
- Frequently wash / sanitize your hands;
Today in Alberta, there were 1,270 new cases with 20,169 active cases. There are currently 749 people in hospital with 139 people in ICU. Unfortunately, there were 16 additional deaths reported today and that brings the total number of deaths to 760 in Alberta.
We all must do our part. It is critical that we follow the all the guidelines and restrictions so that we can prevent the spread in Morley.
Isniyis!
Sincerely,
