Stoney Tribal Administration (STA) is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance & Skilled Trades Contractor to provide ongoing repair, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general building support across STA facilities in Mînî Thnî.
This is an independent contractor opportunity, with services required approximately 2–3 days per week, depending on operational needs.
Scope of Services
- General building repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Electrical and plumbing repairs within applicable qualifications and trade requirements.
- Carpentry, drywall, flooring, doors, locks, fixtures, painting, and minor mechanical repairs.
- Troubleshooting building, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance issues.
- Identifying safety concerns and recommending larger or specialized repairs when required.
- Maintaining records of work completed and communicating outstanding maintenance needs.
- Following applicable health and safety requirements while working in occupied facilities.
Contractor Requirements
- Relevant experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or skilled trades.
- Electrical and/or plumbing trade tickets/credentials strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices; WHMIS, First Aid, fall protection, or related certifications are assets.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot a variety of building maintenance issues.
- Own tools, equipment, and required PPE.
- Appropriate contractor/general liability insurance and required trade licensing/certification.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Willing and able to commute to Mînî Thnî 2–3 days per week.
