Job Location Stoney Nakoda Child & Family Services – Mini Thni, AB

JOB SUMMARY

The Case Aide shall perform specific duties for Stoney Nakoda Child and Family Services and is expected to work in a team environment to deliver services for the benefit of Stoney Children and for the well-being of the family unit.

TASK AND DUTIES

  • Transports Clients to Therapy, Court, and other agreed upon appointments
  • Conducts a Risk Assessment to evaluate situations to maintain the safety of the children
  • Interprets for client and/or staff
  • Assist Staff in ensuring clients have a Treaty Status Card.
  • Complete Federal Government Forms regarding Child Tax Benefit
  • Complete skeleton information on mandatory forms for the Caseworkers
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets to monitor the use and amounts being spent on Service Providers
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets to document the Band each client is registered with
  • Completes R&E’s for Intervention Workers
  • May complete face to face contact with clients
  • May input matters on CICIO (computer system)
  • Submits reports to the Coordinator/Program Supervisor on a monthly basis regarding fee for services
  • Serves legal documents to clients
  • Assists clients in obtaining proper identification and benefits
  • Meet with case workers to review client files

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum High School Diploma. Preference given to related post secondary diplomas
  • Good knowledge of both Stoney and English languages required
  • Must possess a class 5 driver’s license
  • Willingness to use personal vehicle and obtain $1,000,000 liability and collision coverage
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent in the use of Excel
  • In depth knowledge of the Child Welfare Act, SNCFS and AFSS policies and procedures
  • Knowledge in family dynamics, behavioral patterns, and family abuse.

OTHER

  • Liaises and maintains communication with community based programs and management, government agencies, parents, caregivers, community members and other related organizations
  • Represents SNCFS when interacting with partners, Child and Family Services and Delegated First Nation Agencies
  • Ensures personnel administration is in accordance to STA regulations and policy and Provincial legislations
  • Eligible to be appointed as a Commissioner for Oaths for the Province of Alberta
