The Stoney Tribal Administration (STA) is seeking a motivated and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to support our programs and staff. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role partners closely with STA Program Managers and plays a key role in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, workplace injury management, and HR program delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources Operations
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer preparation
- Complete monthly recruitment reports
- Complete weekly job ad reports
- Support and coordinate onboarding for new hires to ensure a positive employee experience
- Maintain, review, and update job descriptions across all SNN positions
- Provide administrative and generalist support for performance management, training, and learning & development initiatives
- Prepare and distribute HR-related correspondence to staff and managers
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR workflows; track HR metrics such as hires, resignations, leaves, and internal movements; complete monthly reports
- Support managers with accurate completion of Personnel Change Notices (PCNs) and ensure required documentation is attached
- Coach and mentor new employees, serving as a point of contact for HR-related questions and concerns
- Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) to Service Canada
- Act as the primary point of contact for work-related injuries and coordinate claims with the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with STA departments, employees, and Band Administrations
- Provide backup support to HR team members as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Employee Benefit Administration
- Administer and communicate employee benefit programs for designated STA programs
- Support employees with group benefit enrollments and claims
- Follow up on benefit claims with providers when required
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 Education
- Certificate and/or Diploma in Human Resource Management an asset
- Knowledge & experience with Payroll/HR software
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and collaborative team player
- Ability to build effective partnerships with program managers
- Sound judgment with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Initiative-driven and eager to learn and take on new challenges
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and reliability
