Morley Community Post Office
Notice: Effective March 19, 2029
RE: COVID-19 Precautionary Measures
As everyone is aware, that the Nation has declared a “State of Local Emergency” on March 17, 2020. The Morley Post Office is an essential service to the Nation, and we are required to remain open at this time.
As precautionary measures for our customers and employees we will be adopting the following modified schedule:
• We will keep the front customer service open 8:00am-12:00pm daily. This should give everyone time to receive their parcels and registered mail and other Canada Post Products that they would require.
• After 12:00pm we will lock the front glass gate but will remain open to the public until 4:00pm so that community members can access their mailboxes. We will lock up at our usual closing time.
• At this time Canada Post has not mentioned any delays in mail deliveries.
• Canada Post has been communicating with all post offices and we are all working together to ensure that mail delivery is not delayed during this time.
Canada Post has stated at this time, that electronic signatures for parcel pick up and letter pick up are not required unless it is a Registered Letter, Xpresspost or Priority. We also will not be adding the “signature required” option when sending Registered mail, Xpress Post and Priority.
To receive the following items only: Registered, Xpresspost Certified, Proof of Identity, Proof of Age, COD (collect on delivery) and items where custom fees are due, please know that we cannot release these items unless a signature is provided. You will receive a notice card indicating the post office where you can pick up your items by showing proof of identity and signing. If you are sick or under self-isolation, please arrange for someone to pick up these items in your place.
We are also taking extra steps and ensuring that we do an hourly disinfecting of the post office that the public frequent. I.E: the mailboxes, doors, keyboards, customer service desk etc.
